Challenges

Each day challenges come our way. Some are easy to overcome and some are not. Some we'd rather not even think about. I recently returned from a writers conference and am now experiencing the "after conference tidal wave." If you've been to a conference, you'll understand what I mean. While you are away, everything piles up, and you are faced with a wall of work when you get back.

When I see all the challenges before me, the materials I have to ready and send to editors, the market openings, the products I need to finish for Chalkboard Productions, not to mention the regular daily chores of living, I wonder how I will overcome the challenges before me. Then I remember that my power to meet the challenges of the day doesn't come from inside me, but only from the God who has called me to do His work.

I will never have enough strength to meet the challenges before me in life, but that's not what God is asking me to do. He is asking me to be faithful and keep my eyes on Him, the Author and Finisher of my faith. He'll take care of the details.

Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

"The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy
and I will give thanks to him in song.
"
